2016-02-04: CCF Activities - CCF Newsletter Vol. 49 released!

CCF wishes you all a healthy and fruitful Year of the Monkey! In 2016, CCF marked its 27th year of serving young cancer patients and their families. In September, to advocate the importance of paediatric palliative care, a seminar was held inviting overseas experts to share their experience with the local medical profession and academe.  Furthermore, CCF renamed Hospital Play Service as Child Life Service to reflect the international standard of this service.  Of course, in this issue, you will also find our colleagues sharing their experience of serving our patients.

With this 25-Year Commemorative Book, we look back on 25 years of being there for those in need. We tell our story and hope it inspires you to help, as the courage and bravery of those we have helped, inspired us.

2015-07-17: CCF News – Renaming of Hospital Play Service as Child Life Service

In 1997 Children’s Cancer Foundation adopted the discipline’s professional methodology that encompassed training and service standards codified by the Child Life Council of the USA.  The Foundation provides training for its employees to obtain internationally-recognised accreditation, ensuring Child Life Service in Hong Kong compares favourably to world class standards. Currently, five of the Foundation’s Specialists are accredited Certified Child Life Specialists. Hence, this name will reflect the professionalism and internationally-recognised accreditation of the work of our Specialists.
