Survivor Potential Development

1
I am a 19-year-old childhood cancer survivor. I missed the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (DSE) because of my cancer treatment. I have not been able to find a job since secondary school. I have no friends and feel very lost in life. How can CCF help me?

Some adolescence cancer patients missed their DSE exams which affected their whole career planning. Based on your interests and potentials, our social workers can help you find other career paths. We also have interest classes and potentials development workshops where you can explore other possibilities in life apart from studying. You will get to meet other survivors with similar age and experience to share and walk your journey together.

I am 27 years old and was diagnosed with cancer at 10. My look and height is like a junior secondary school student. This has affected my self-esteem, social and career life. How can CCF help me?

The perception of ‘ideal height or look’ can be affected by social stereotypes. You are welcome to participate in our self-development group. Through sharing and mutual support among survivors, you could equip yourself with knowledge and competencies in overcoming the challenges in life. You can attend our rehabilitation programmes such as running and sailing trainings. Through these programmes, you may enhance and strengthen your resilience and self-recognition.
